Órgano. Tania Candiani @ Laboratorio Arte Alameda, México


Hace unas semanas recibí una invitación del Laboratorio Arte Alameda para visitar la exposición “Cinco variaciones de circunstancias fónicas y una pausa“ de Tania Candiani. Tenía muchas ganas de verla porque me parece interesante el concepto que tiene de entrelazar el lenguaje, las máquinas y la codificación… o como yo lo entendí: ¿qué pasaría si las máquinas tuvieran un lenguaje propio para hablar?.
En este aparato, mi favorito, se puede escribir una frase en la máquina de escribir y al cambiar de renglón el sonido de lo que se escribió se reproduce por esos tubos larguísimos, mientras que cada tecla del piano hace un sonido de una sílaba o una letra diferente.
A few weeks ago I received an invitation from the Laboratorio Arte Alameda to visit the exhibition “Five variations of phonic circumstances and a pause“ by Tania Candiani. I really wanted to see it because I loved the concept of mixing language, machines and coding… or as I understood: what would happen if machines had their own language to communicate?. 
With this machine you can type a phrase on the writing machine and when you hit enter the organ reads what you wrote and the sound is reproduced through the long tubes, while every key of the piano creates the sound of a letter or syllable.

Como si no tuviera otras cosas que hacer, de repente me pongo creativa y se me ocurre hacer un proyecto fotográfico.

The Close Up Project.

Como el nombre lo dice, estaré tomando fotografías |cosa que de todas formas hago a diario|, con la peculiaridad de que habrá entre dos y tres fotos sobre el mismo aspecto, un close up y una (o dos fotos, dependiendo el caso), con planos más abiertos.

Estaré haciendo esta sección por el momento cada lunes y a ver qué pasa… en una de esas hasta se gana su propio blog. ;)

As if I didn’t have plenty of things to do, suddenly I get creative and an idea for a photography proyect comes up:

The Close Up Project.

As name indicates, I’ll be taking pictures |which I already do| with a little twist: there will be 2-3 photos of the same aspect: being one of them a close up and the second picture a wider shot (in some cases a third picture may be included).

I will be creating this section every monday just to see what happens and who knows, it may earn it’s own blog. ;)

Mi abue me dio dos regalos adelantados por mi cumpleaños 25. Uno es un suéter que ella tejió y el segundo es una cámara Kodak Duaflex ii que era de ella y mi abuelo.

Tengo mis rollos de 35mm listos para cuando haga las adaptaciones necesarias y ahora tengo nuevas ideas con este video que encontré.

Está grabado con una Canon5DII a través del viewfinder de una cámara como la que ahora es mía.

My grandma gave me two presents in advance for my 25th birthday. One is a sweater she made for me and she also gave me a Kodak Duaflex ii.

I’m more than happy!!

I have my set of lomo films ready to take some pictures and now I’m having even more ideas with this video I found.

It was recorded with a Canon 5DII trough the viewfinder of the camera I now own. 

Can’t wait to experiment with it!!!
